Toyota's two best-selling SUVs share this proximity fob in many of their push start trims: the RAV4 from its 2019 redesign and the Highlander from 2020. The four buttons are usually lock, unlock, power liftgate and panic. Ask us to confirm for your model, as Toyota used more than one board in this shell. A Toyota smart key goes in a pocket or bag and stays there. The SUV reads it when you touch the door handle and when you press start. If the fob battery dies, touch the Toyota logo side of the fob to the start button and press it; the SUV can read it at that range. For the door, slide out the mechanical key from the fob.
