Automotive Keys 2022-2024 Acura MDX / 4-Button Smart Key Vancouver

Acura launched the fourth-generation MDX for 2022, and the four-button proximity key listed here belongs to that generation. Owners of a 2021 or older MDX need a different fob, even though they look alike in photos. The four buttons are normally lock, unlock, power tailgate and panic; if your MDX has remote start built into the fob, ask us to confirm the right layout for your trim. Two things make the MDX key behave the way it does. First, the vehicle checks the fob by radio both at the door and at the start button, so a key that has not been registered to your MDX will do nothing. Second, the fob holds a slim mechanical key for the driver's door, needed when the battery is low. We cut that insert, then register the fob to the MDX on site. The SUV has to be present, along with its registration and your photo ID. Adding a key while another one works is the routine version of this job. When the last key is gone the process is longer, but still possible without a dealer visit. A fob that works only when held close is usually a battery, not a failure.
