The Q50 arrived in 2014 as the replacement for the G37 sedan, and it brought a new fob with it. This 4-button Intelligent Key belongs to the early Q50 years: lock, unlock, trunk and panic. A G37 key will not substitute, and later Q50s may differ, so give us your year when you call. Q50 drivers usually reach us for one of three reasons. The fob was lost. The case cracked and the board shifts around inside. Or the car keeps flashing a key warning even with a new battery, which points to a fob that is failing. Programming happens at the car, using diagnostic equipment through the OBD port, and we cut the slim emergency key that hides inside the fob to your driver's door. You need that blade on the day the fob battery goes flat and the handle sensors stop answering. If you still have one working fob, a second is the simpler job. Without one, plan on more time at the vehicle. Either way, bring the registration and photo ID. We can do the work at our Macdonald St shop or come out to where the Q50 is parked.
