The separate keyless remote that hung beside the ignition key on so many Neons, Caravans, Grand Cherokees and Intrepids from this period was a tough little fob, but its case was not. The battery door goes missing, the halves crack at the key-ring loop, and the rubber buttons split. This shell replaces just the case. There is no blade on this item, because these remotes were separate from the key. There is also no circuit board inside. You keep your working board, we fit it into the new housing, and the remote carries on exactly as before, with nothing to reprogram. Before replacing the case, try a new coin cell. If the remote still does nothing, the board itself may have failed, and a new case will not bring it back; in that case you need a complete remote that we pair to the vehicle. Most people have us do this swap at our counter, but you are welcome to buy the shell and do it yourself if you are handy with small screws and clips.
