Before Lexus moved most of its line to push-button start, a lot of models used this all-in-one key: a metal blade, a transponder chip in the head, and three buttons for lock, unlock and panic on the face. You turn it in the ignition like any key, which is the easiest way to tell it apart from a Lexus smart key that just sits in your pocket. The common complaint on these is the remote side giving out while the key still starts the car. Sometimes it is just the battery; sometimes the rubber pad has worn through or the board has taken a knock. If the head is cracked but the electronics are fine, a shell may be all you need. If the key is lost, this is the part to replace.
