This is the budget-minded sibling of our HO03 key: the same blade profile, made by an aftermarket supplier, carrying an ID46 chip. For Hondas and Acuras that use the 46 chip, it does the same job as a dealer key once programmed: it starts the car and works the door and trunk locks. The catch is in that last condition. Honda did not use the 46 chip on every model in this date range, and some later vehicles moved to a different chip altogether. Before you order, ask us to confirm for your trim and year, or bring your current key and we will check what is in it. Aftermarket heads are a little lighter than the originals and the plastic finish is plainer, but the blade is cut to the same depths on our code machine, so it turns just as smoothly in the lock. To get it running, the car and the key need to meet. Programming is done at the vehicle with your registration and photo ID on hand, either at our counter or on a mobile visit. Keys made while you still have one working original are the easiest; we handle lost-key cases too.
