The first-generation Pilot moved Honda's remote into the head of the ignition key, giving you lock, unlock and panic on the same piece of plastic that starts the engine. If your Pilot key looks like that, with three buttons and a fixed blade, this is the replacement. These keys lead hard lives on a family SUV. The usual pattern is that the rubber button pad wears through first, then the head splits near the blade. If the remote still works, a new shell may be all you need. If the key is lost, or the transponder inside has stopped being read, a new key is the right fix. Getting it working is a three-part job. The blade is cut on our code machine to match your ignition and doors. The chip is programmed so the immobiliser lets the engine run, and the remote is paired for keyless entry. All of that is done with the Pilot present, so bring the vehicle along with its registration and your photo ID. We can do it at our Macdonald St counter or as a mobile visit.
