The third-generation Odyssey in its higher trims carried a separate six-button remote alongside the ignition key. Besides lock, unlock and panic, it opens the left and right power sliding doors and the power tailgate. Lower trims without those power doors used a simpler remote, so check that your van actually has them before ordering. This is a remote only. There is no blade to cut and nothing in it starts the engine; your ignition key does that. The job is pairing the remote to the van. On a busy family van, the door buttons wear first because everyone presses them. A sliding door that will not open from the remote is not always the remote's fault, though. If the door also refuses from the interior switch, the problem is in the door system, not the fob. For pairing, bring the Odyssey, a working ignition key, the registration and your photo ID. If your ignition key is lost too, we can cut and program a new one in the same visit, either at 4105 Macdonald St or wherever the van is parked.
