The Jaguar smart key, and how we set one up.
Jaguar's XK, XKR and XF from 2009 to 2015 use a keyless smart key, and this aftermarket version replaces the factory fob with FCC ID KR55WK49244, Jaguar part 6W83 15K601 EB. The listed functions are lock, unlock, panic and trunk, and it runs at 315 MHz on a CR2032 battery. An aftermarket emergency key is included for the door. The XF in particular is known for its rotary gear selector that rises from the console when you press start, and none of that happens unless the car detects a registered key inside. When a key is lost, that becomes urgent. Programming a Jaguar smart key needs diagnostic equipment connected to the car, so the vehicle has to be present, whether at our shop or where it is parked. We cut the emergency key to the door lock as part of the visit. Registration and photo ID are required. Before ordering, check the FCC ID printed on the back of your existing fob, and compare the button layout. If the numbers match, this key will suit your car. If you are unsure, ask us to confirm.
