Automotive Keys 2008-2018 Volvo S60 S80 V40 V60 XC60 XC70 / 5-Button Smart Key Vancouver

The model list on this key reads like most of Volvo's range from 2008 to 2018: S60, S80, V40, V60, XC60 and XC70 all used this five-button smart key. It is new OEM stock, FCC ID KR55WK49264, carrying a Philips ID 46 chip and a 434 MHz transmitter with a CR2450 battery, and it matches Volvo part 30659637. These Volvos have a slot in the dash where the key docks before you press the start button. The car reads the chip there, so a key that has been dropped can fail in ways that are not obvious: buttons that still work while the car refuses to start, or the reverse. When that happens, or the key is simply lost, a new one gets programmed to the vehicle with diagnostic tools while the car sits with us. We also cut the included aftermarket emergency key, which uses the HU101 blade, to your locks. Have the vehicle registration and your photo ID ready. Going OEM rather than aftermarket mostly comes down to fit and finish of the case and buttons; electronically both do the job. Ask us to confirm the version for your car.
