The Honda remote head key, and how we set one up.
Honda's high-security blade, with its wavy cut down the middle, is what you will find under this four-button head. It fits Accords and Civics of 2013 to 2015 that use a regular ignition. The buttons are lock, unlock, trunk and panic; on cars with factory remote start, the key layout may differ, so compare with your own. It is a remote head key, so the chip and remote board live inside the head. Once we have cut the blade on our high-security machine, we register the chip and pair the remote with the car on site. Registration and photo ID go with it. The Accord and Civic of this period include a lot of commuter cars racking up kilometres, and their keys live hard lives on crowded key rings. The case splits around the key ring hole, or the blade wears enough that it catches in the ignition. If the blade on your current key is badly worn, we cut the new one to code rather than copying the wear. Push-start versions of these cars use the separate smart key listing.
