Automotive Keys 2014-2018 Mazda / 4-Button Smart Key Vancouver

Mazda's Advanced Keyless system arrived across its range in these years, and the fob that came with it is this four button smart key for the 2014 to 2018 models. It is carried, not turned: the car detects it as you reach the door, the handle button unlocks, and the engine starts from the dash. The four buttons are lock, unlock, the trunk or hatch release and panic. Inside the fob there is a folded emergency blade for the driver's door, and that blade is the single thing we cut; the fob is otherwise registered to the vehicle through the diagnostic port with the car present. That registration is something we do here rather than at a dealership, and it is routine work for us. Buy the right item. This page is the fob with its electronics. A smart key shell is the plastic case and button membrane with nothing inside, for the fob that still works perfectly but has a cracked corner, a lifted logo or buttons rubbed blank, and it is the cheaper fix when your board is sound because we move it across. The complete fob is for a lost or dead one. Mazda owners lose these fobs in very specific places: airport long term parking, the sand at Spanish Banks, a parkade off Cambie. With the other fob in hand the replacement is written in one short session. With no fob at all the immobiliser has to be read at the vehicle and a new fob written from that reading, after which the missing fob is voided so it cannot be used, and that appointment runs longer. Bring the car, its registration and your driver's licence to 4105 Macdonald St in Vancouver, or arrange for us to come to the car. Before you order, call 604-734-7233 with the exact model, because this four button fob and the three button one used on other trims are not interchangeable.
