Mazda's keyless fob from these years is a compact oval with a chrome edge, used on push start versions of the Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-5 and others. This one has four buttons, typically lock, unlock, trunk or liftgate, and panic. Mazda used several fob variants across those models, so we confirm fit with your model and year before programming. How to tell you have this kind of key: the car starts with a button, the fob never goes in a slot, and a small metal key slides out of the fob's end when you press the release. Mazda fobs are fairly durable, but the button membrane wears and the case seam opens up after a few years in a pocket. A cold snap also flattens a tired coin cell faster than you expect, so if the car suddenly will not see the key on a frosty morning, try a new battery before anything else.
