Automotive Keys 2019-2021 Kia Forte / 4-Button Flip Key Vancouver

Kia redesigned the Forte for 2019, and the trims that still start with a turned key use this folding remote key. Its four buttons normally cover lock, unlock, trunk and panic, and the blade swings out when you press the release. We see a lot of Fortes with a key that has been taped together. The pivot is the weak spot on any flip key, and once the plastic around it cracks, the blade can fall out entirely. Tape works for a week; a new key is the real fix. Why not just get a blank cut at a hardware store? Because the Forte's immobiliser needs to recognise a transponder in the key before the engine will run. Without programming, a cut key unlocks the door and turns the ignition but the car will not start. We cut the blade to the car's code, then program the chip and pair the remote at the vehicle. The Forte needs to be present with the registration and your photo ID. If your only key is gone, we can still make one at the car. To book a counter visit or a call-out, phone 604-734-7233.
