Of the three Mitsubishi shell groups we stock, this one covers the MIT6, MIT9, MIT13 and MIT16 keyways. It is a new aftermarket shell made by KeylessFactory as a stand-in for JMA's TP00MIT-18.P. Read the keyway off your blade if it is stamped, or let us compare the groove pattern at the counter; picking by keyway rather than model name avoids the most common ordering mistake. The shell arrives empty. Your working transponder chip comes out of the old key and goes into this one, and we cut the blade to your original or to code. Since the car already knows that chip, there is nothing to program, and you do not need to bring the vehicle. Mitsubishi keys from this group often fail at the thin section where the blade enters the head, and a bent blade can also damage the ignition if you keep forcing it, so replacing the shell early is cheaper than fixing a cylinder. We check the chip as we transfer it. A chip that has cracked or gone missing means a full key, cut and programmed with the car present, which we also do.
