Volkswagen's Routan minivan was built alongside the Chrysler and Dodge minivans, which is why this Fobik covers all three brands for 2008 to 2017. On a minivan the extra buttons beyond lock, unlock and panic usually run the power sliding doors or the liftgate, so a five-button fob suits vans with some, but not all, of those power features. Check the icons on your current fob and match them exactly; a button for a door your van cannot power will not do anything. Minivan fobs take a lot of abuse. Kids drop them, the case splits along the seam, and the button pads wear through. The fob also slides into the dash ignition every drive, and a worn case can stop being recognised there. Our job has two parts: cut the small emergency blade stored inside the fob to your driver's door lock, and program the fob's transponder and remote to the van.
