The fourth-generation Acura TL's smart key is a handsome fob, but after a few years of daily use the case tends to crack, the chrome trim peels and the buttons wear through. If the electronics inside still work, there is no reason to replace them. This is a replacement housing for the 2009 to 2014 TL four-button smart key, the shell only, without the circuit board. Your existing board, with the TL's programming already on it, goes into the new case. The key keeps working exactly as it did, unlocking, locking, opening the trunk and setting off the panic alarm, and the car keeps recognising it for push button start. The shell includes a blank emergency key, which we cut to your driver's door lock. We can do the board transfer at the counter, or you can do it yourself; the case opens at the seam and the board lifts out. Be gentle with the battery contacts. If your fob no longer works at all, or has been lost, the complete TL smart key is the item you need instead. Ask us to confirm the shell matches your key.
