Mazda key and fob replacement in Vancouver

Mazda key replacement cost is the thing people search before they call, so here it is first. A blade transponder key for an older Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-9 or MX-5 is $180-$280 cut and programmed. An Advanced Keyless proximity fob for a CX-5, CX-30, CX-50, CX-70, CX-90 or a current Mazda3 is $280-$420. All keys lost starts from $180.

The CX-5 is the Mazda we are called out to most in Vancouver, usually for a lost proximity fob. Everything is cut and paired where the car is, normally 20 to 30 minutes from the shop at 4105 Macdonald St. Published figures are on the price list, and the car key replacement page covers the other makes.

CX-30, CX-50, CX-70 and CX-90

Proximity from launch across the current CX range. Programmed at the kerb through the OBD port.

Mazda6 and CX-9

Blade transponder on the earlier cars, proximity on the later ones. Flip-key springs on the middle years are repaired the same visit.

MX-5, CX-3, Mazda5 and Mazda2

MX-5 moves from blade to proximity; the rest are blade transponder. All cut and programmed on site.

The Mazda3 key that stopped turning

Wafer wear is the classic Mazda3 and Mazda6 fault. The key binds, then needs a wiggle, then stops. We rebuild or replace the cylinder and key it to your existing key wherever the lock allows, so you are not carrying two keys afterwards. That work is ignition repair.

CX-5 fobs lost away from the car

Airport parking, a parkade off Cambie, a beach. With nothing left to copy we read the immobiliser at the vehicle and write a fresh fob, then void the missing one.

Flip keys that will not stay shut

The spring in a middle-years Mazda3 or Mazda6 flip key fails long before the electronics do. We carry the blanks and repair it in the same visit.
